A Message from the Club President

The Lions Club of Mountain Home meets every Wednesday at 12:00 p.m. at the Elks Club on Highway 62 NE.  Our mission is the prevention of blindness and the rehabilitation of the blind.  The money that is received during our radio/television auction in November of each year is used to pay for eye exams and glasses for those who can’t afford to pay for eye care themselves.  In addition we make donations to the Lions World Services for the Blind headquartered in Little Rock, Arkansas and Mid-South Clinic in Memphis, Tennessee.  By making these donations, we play a part in insuring the continued availability of rehabilitation and eye surgery services for persons in our town who are in need.

We are able to continue our efforts because of the 60 members who come regularly to our Wednesday meetings.  Except for a business meeting on the first Wednesday of each month, we have programs at each meeting that inform, challenge and excite our members.  Persons who visit our website have a standing invitation to come to a Wednesday meeting to get acquainted with our members and enjoy an excellent Elks Lodge lunch.   We hope to see you there.

Phil Garner – President 2008-2009
